So this may be the first time you have booked a Reiki session or perhaps you have tried it before, either way you may be wondering what to expect at your first appointment. After welcoming you in and asking you to take a seat, I will gather some general and medical information and answer any questions you may have about your Reiki session.
Then it is time to either sit (seated reiki) or lie down and just relax. Reiki can be hands on(or off) healing and i will work around the various energy points throughout your body, starting initially with you lying on your back and then having you turn over onto your front. The experience of Reiki healing is unique to the individual. Some people feel heat or tingling, others have felt a sense of heaviness, you may feel different emotions or you may feel nothing at all other than being relaxed and calm. What you experience can also change from one session to the next too. The Reiki energy is intuitive and goes where it is needed.
After your healing which can last between 45 minutes to 60 minutes, you will be given some water to drink as it can make you very thirsty and then we will talk about the session afterwards and anything I may have noticed whilst giving Reiki. This is an opportunity again to ask any questions you may have or to talk about how you found the experience overall.
A Reiki healing will have shifted the energy around so I will talk you through what you might expect to feel over the next 24 to 48 hours. How it is important to stay hydrated, making sure you are getting plenty of rest and staying relaxed and calm through to possible effects on your emotions. Again these experiences can vary from person to person. At the end of your session you will be offered the option to book another appointment/s should you wish.
Your first session will last up to 90 minutes and subsequent ones up to 60 minutes.
