A very sound way to heal…

As the percussion fades out and a calm comes over the healing space, there is a peaceful time of quiet reflection’. Every session is different and each provides the potential for a deeper exploration of any underlying themes. We create a space for the healing process that can occur when you harness the power of sound, vibration, and frequency.

Sound healing is a very ancient healing modality dating right back in time. The Egyptians used it in their healing chambers in the pyramids and the Greeks understood the benefits it presented to help allay mental disorders. The healing vibration of sound goes cell deep, and is beneficial for emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.

My own experience with sound healing started when i saw a sound bath advertised in my local area. Although i had never heard of such a thing before, i was none the less intrigued, and enlisted the assistance of my best friend, Mandy, to accompany me. Some days later we found ourselves in a yurt, in the wilds of Bedfordshire, with a shaman, two massive gongs and 6 other ladies for company. It was an interesting way to spend a Monday night in January, way back in 2019. The gongs were incredibly powerful and really shifted some energy within that space. I felt it in my heart, Mandy in her back, in fact everybody had their own experience of feeling energetic blockages shift during that sound bath.

From the gongs i was then drawn further into sound, and this led me to embrace the drums. Frame drums, full drum kit, and then a djembe. The drums moved me in a different way to the gongs, however, it was no less powerful, and once more i experienced deep healing in some challenging times. They connected me with my spirit animals, brought me back into alignment with the universal energies that flow all around us, and strengthened my connection to my higher self.

Having experienced such profound results in my own healing process, i found i was drawn more and more to wanting to bring this therapeutic healing method out into the wider world.

As part of my continuous professional development I undertook a period of study with the British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST). My studies allowed me to explore in much greater detail how sound can be used in many different therapeutic ways. My case studies were based around the gongs, crystal singing bowls and the monochord. The difference it made to the individuals i worked with was very transformative. The method used by BAST has come about as a result of extensive research over the past twenty four years. They have produced many articles and papers on the numerous health benefits of sound therapy on helping individuals to access deeper healing for both physical, mental and emotional blocks. https://www.britishacademyofsoundtherapy.com/
